Holistic Homesteaders Healing & Wellness LLC is a Louisiana-based nonprofit dedicated to making herbalism and holistic wellness accessible for all. We focus on womens health, community education, and natural living through hands-on classes, workshops, and retreats rooted in bayou culture.
Role Overview
Were seeking a passionate, knowledgeable Herbal Instructor to join us on a commission basis. Youll lead select classes and workshops throughout the year—including our signature retreat—helping participants connect with plant medicine and holistic wellness in a welcoming, empowering environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person and/or virtual herbal classes (topics may include tincture making, herbal tea blending, foraging, first aid, and seasonal wellness)
- Lead herbal education sessions at our annual retreat (Kisatchie Nature Retreat)
- Develop engaging lesson plans, hands-on demos, and educational materials
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and community-centered class atmosphere
- Collaborate with the founder and team on curriculum and event logistics
- Represent Holistic Homesteaders values of quality, inclusivity, and evidence-based education
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of herbalism, plant medicine, and holistic wellness
- Teaching or workshop facilitation experience preferred (but not required)
- Warm, approachable, and community-oriented teaching style
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in accessible, practical language
- Willingness to travel to Shreveport/Kisatchie area for in-person events
- Commitment to ethical, sustainable herbal practices
Compensation
- Commission-based pay per class/workshop (details discussed during interview)
